Former Ohanaeze Spokesperson Ibegbu Responds To Peter Obi’s Meeting With PDP Governor

Chuks Ibegbu, a former spokesperson of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has stated that Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has the right to meet with any politician or political entity.

This comment follows Obi’s visit to Bauchi State, where he held discussions with Governor Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking in an interview with newsmen, Ibegbu emphasized that Obi’s political engagements should be viewed positively as long as they are aimed at the betterment of Nigeria.

“Peter Obi is free to hold meetings with any political entity as long as it is for the betterment of Nigeria,” he said.

On the recent endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Minister of Works David Umahi, Ibegbu remarked that the final decision on Nigeria’s political leadership in 2027 rests with the people.

He added that the political integrity of Ndigbo would only be taken seriously when its political leaders align their actions with the interests of the people they represent.
