FULL LIST: Olubadan Ladoja Elevates 10 Chiefs

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, has elevated ten traditional chiefs to higher positions within the Otun Chieftaincy Line, marking another significant step in the traditional leadership structure of Ibadanland.

According to Ireporter Online, the promotion ceremony was held on Friday at the Banquet Hall of the Olubadan Palace in Okt of Ibadanland by promoting peace, unity, security, religious harmony, economic advancement, food sufficiency, and by discouraging land grabbing and other criminal activities capable of tarnishing the revered Olubadan institution.

The chiefs elevated during the ceremony are Chief (Engr.) Dauda Kolawole Gbadamosi, who becomes the Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland; Chief Williams Oyeleke Oyekola as Asaaju Olubadan; Chief Oluyinka Akande as Ayingun Olubadan; Chief Olufemi Olukorede Ogunwale as Aare-Ago Olubadan; Chief Wasiu Aderoju Aladorin as Lagunna Olubadan; Chief Abiola Iyiola as Aare-Egbe Omo Olubadan; Chief Dotun Sanusi as Gbonka Olubadan; Chief Akinola Alabi as Aare Onibon Olubadan; and Chief Oladiran Abiodun Alabi as Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Speaking on behalf of the newly elevated chiefs, Chief Gbadamosi expressed appreciation to the Olubadan and members of the Olubadan-in-Council for the confidence reposed in them. He pledged that the beneficiaries would justify the honour by working closely with the monarch and the council to advance the progress and prosperity of Ibadanland.

The event attracted several prominent members of the traditional institution, including the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr.) Kolawole Adegbola; the Otun Olubadan, Oba (Sir) Eddy Oyewole; the Osi Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi; the Ashipa Olubadan, Oba Salawudeen Amidu Ajibade; the Ashipa Balogun, Oba Dauda Abiodun Azees; and the Ekerin Balogun, Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin. Representatives of the Iyalode Line, including Chief Soyege Taye, Chief Durosaro Yewande and Chief Onibiyo Scott, were also in attendance.
