stressing that pushing personal agendas would lead to automatic disqualification.

The governor, who assumed office 20 months ago, described the circulating list of potential nominees as fake and emphasized his exclusive right to appoint members of the state executive council.

“Please, don’t ask anybody to contact me. My phone lines are switched off already and will remain so until the names are sent to the House of Assembly next week,” Eno stated.

He added, “If you want someone to fail, the surest way is to send me their name. To appoint people into the executive council is the sole prerogative of the governor. Their loyalty will be to me and the state alone.”

Eno assured the public that no names have been finalized yet, dismissing speculations about a supposed nominee list.

“I’ve read the speculations, and I thank those who’ve made the supposed candidates fail already. As of now, no names have been penciled down,” he clarified.

The governor dissolved his cabinet after a valedictory meeting on Friday, during which the outgoing members unanimously supported the motion for their dismissal. Eno concluded the process by striking the gavel, signaling the end of their tenure.

The reconstitution of the state executive council is expected to be announced next week, with the governor reiterating his commitment to selecting a “first eleven” team dedicated to serving the state.
