entire governance structure is vulnerable.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Okpebholo directed an immediate review of the platform, which was initiated by the previous administration. The review aims to restore full administrative control of the platform to the state government.
The statement further clarified that, contrary to reports circulating on social media, the e-governance platform has not been shut down. However, it emphasized that while the review is underway, officials across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies are to continue their work on the platform.
The statement also highlighted concerns that no one within the Edo State Public Service currently has administrative control over the platform, putting the state’s data security and governance at risk. Okpebholo has ordered this urgent review to address the situation and restore the state’s oversight and institutional memory, which the current platform lacks.
