In a statement released by the President, Umar Francis, the group asserted that the chairman should be selected from among the candidates who underwent the screening process conducted by the committee.

Francis emphasized, “Any individual who didn’t undergo this process cannot stand to benefit from it.”

He highlighted concerns regarding Anyebe’s suspension from his Ogugu Ward in Olamaboro Local Government for alleged anti-party activities, citing a petition with evidence signed by all ward executives.

Francis further expressed dissatisfaction with the rejection of the elders committee report during the delegate meeting in Lokoja on April 29, 2024. He argued that the position of PDP state chairman should not be casually awarded to an outsider, particularly one with reported issues and lacking the necessary qualifications.

He urged party leaders to ensure a fair and transparent election process for party delegates to choose the next chairman of the PDP in Kogi State.
