Gunmen Claim Two Lives In Kogi Community

Armed with sophisticated weapons, the gunmen carried out the attack without encountering any resistance from security forces in the area.

A source, preferring anonymity, revealed, “Some gunmen identified as Fulani reportedly murdered two of our active youths committed to community assignment around the general area of Oyi River before ascending Ogbe Town here in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.” The incident has plunged the ancient town into mourning, with efforts underway to address the aftermath.

Senator Sunday Karimi⁩, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, condemned the incident, stating that it underscores the need for state police. He urged the Kogi State government to prioritize the Egbe–Ogbe road project in Yagba West Local Council for improved accessibility and security.

Senator Karimi⁩ extended his condolences to the families of the victims and the entire Ogbe community.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya, stated that the Command is yet to receive a report on the incident but assured prompt feedback once detailed information becomes available.
