Heartbroken Oranyan Market Fire Victims Plead for Help After Losing Livelihoods
Aftermath of the devastating Oranyan Market fire incident in Ibadan, Oyo State, traders and shop owners have been left in despair. On Monday, the victims of the fire outbreak made an emotional appeal to the state government and compassionate individuals, urging them to come to their rescue.
The tragic fire has not only destroyed their businesses but also stripped them of their primary means of survival. Many of the affected traders lamented the severe impact the incident has had on their lives and families, leaving them with no source of income.
As the charred remains of their goods lie scattered, the victims are hoping that their cries for help will reach the ears of those who can provide immediate financial assistance. “We are pleading with the government and kind-hearted people in Oyo State to help us rebuild our lives. We have lost everything,” one of the victims said.
The traders believe that swift support can help them recover, especially since many of them rely solely on their businesses to provide for their families. This plea echoes similar calls for assistance made by victims of fire incidents in other markets across Nigeria, such as the cases in Kano and Bauchi earlier this year.
With the economic hardship already affecting many Nigerians, incidents like this push traders further into uncertainty. The victims of the Oranyan Market fire now await support, hoping that both the state and private individuals will offer relief and aid in rebuilding their shattered livelihoods.
