High Stakes Collaboration: Akwa Ibom Governor Seeks Tinubu’s Backing for State Projects(Video)

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno earlier today paid a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa to meet with President Tinubu. Addressing the state press house after the meeting, Governor Umo Eno expressed that his visit aimed to convey New Year greetings to the president while also seeking collaboration between the state and the Federal Government.

During their discussions, Governor Umo Eno made specific requests to President Tinubu, urging support for the development of the Ibom sea deep port and the state’s agricultural program, particularly focusing on revitalizing the oil palm. Notably, the state government has initiated efforts to revive the moribund oil palm industry, which has remained inactive for 28 years.

Governor Umo Eno highlighted the importance of Federal Government support in furthering the state’s investment initiatives, emphasizing the need for collaboration to enhance the economic growth and development of Akwa Ibom.

In response to the governor’s requests, President Tinubu expressed interest in the proposals and requested a formal memo outlining the details of the issues discussed. He acknowledged the significance of partnership between the state and the Federal Government to drive progress and development in Akwa Ibom.
