Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho continued his impressive start to life at Bursaspor after scoring a goal and providing an assist in the club’s 2-1 comeback victory over Kayserispor in the Trendyol 1. Lig on Saturday.

Kayserispor took the lead shortly after the half-hour mark when Florent Hasani successfully converted a penalty to put the home side ahead.

Bursaspor went into the break trailing by one goal but returned from the interval with a stronger display as they searched for a way back into the match.

Ireporter Online reports that Iheanacho levelled the score shortly before the hour mark after calmly converting a penalty, giving Bursaspor renewed hope of completing the comeback.

The former Leicester City and Manchester City forward later turned provider as Bursaspor completed the turnaround with 13 minutes remaining.

Iheanacho created the opening for Alperen Babacan, who finished the opportunity to give Bursaspor a 2-1 lead.

Kayserispor pushed for another equaliser but Bursaspor successfully defended their advantage to secure a valuable away victory.

Iheanacho was substituted three minutes before the final whistle, with Lewis Baker coming on as the visitors managed the closing stages of the encounter.

The performance further underlined the Nigerian striker’s strong form since his move to the Turkish club.

The 29-year-old has now registered four goals and two assists in four league appearances for Bursaspor this season, meaning he has been directly involved in six goals during that period.

His latest contribution further establishes Iheanacho as one of the club’s most influential attacking players during the early stages of the campaign.
