INEC Guarantees Voter Readiness And Security For Upcoming Edo Governorship Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured stakeholders of its preparedness for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State.
INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, speaking in Benin City, called for cooperation from all parties to ensure a credible election.
The meeting, held ahead of the election, was attended by political parties, candidates, and other key stakeholders.
Yakubu highlighted that INEC has completed 11 of 13 statutory activities required for the election and noted the delivery of 184,438 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to Edo State. The total number of registered voters in the state now stands at 2,629,025.
