INEC Reports Massive Turnout As 4.6 Million PVCs Collected For Saturday’s Rerun/By-Elections

with a whopping 4,613,197 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) collected by eager voters.
INEC, in a document shared on its official channel, discloses that the collection frenzy includes 2,189,171 PVCs for the by-elections and 2,424,026 PVCs for the rerun elections. The anticipation is palpable as citizens gear up to exercise their democratic right in various senatorial districts, state constituencies, and federal constituencies across the nation.
Not only are the voters ready, but the electoral machinery is also in full swing, with over 8,500 Bimodal Voters Authentication System devices and a robust force of over 35,000 ad-hoc staff poised for deployment.
In a commitment to transparency, the commission announces that 74 domestic observers and one international observer will keep a watchful eye on the electoral proceedings during the February 3 elections. The democratic spotlight will shine on two senatorial districts, three state constituencies, and four federal constituencies, spanning states such as Ebonyi, Yobe, Borno, Kaduna, Benue, Ondo, Taraba, Lagos, and Kebbi.
The rerun elections, ordered by the court, will be a pivotal moment for Plateau Central and 13 federal constituencies, including prominent ones in Lagos, Kebbi, Ondo, Taraba, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Sokoto, Anambra, Enugu, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, and Yobe.
