Emphasizing their detachment from Nigerian affairs, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, underscored that the Igbo community has disengaged from Nigeria’s governance and is awaiting an opportunity to pursue their independence.

Powerful sternly cautioned against organizing protests in the Southeast, asserting that it would endanger the Igbo populace. He highlighted past instances where Igbo participation in protests led to unfavorable profiling and targeting by the government.

“The current economic challenges plaguing Nigeria are not the concern of Biafrans,” Powerful asserted, citing historical injustices against the Igbo community and affirming their determination to seek freedom from Nigeria.

While acknowledging the economic hardships affecting all Nigerians, IPOB maintained that their primary focus remains on the struggle for Biafra’s sovereignty. Despite empathizing with the suffering of other tribes, IPOB stressed the necessity of applying wisdom in navigating the current situation.
