IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu Invites Supporters To Visit Him At DSS Facility

The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has extended an open invitation to his supporters and Nigerians to visit him at the Department of State Security (DSS) headquarters in Abuja.

This comes shortly after a Kenyan court ruled that his arrest and extradition to Nigeria in 2021 by security operatives was illegal.

Aloy Ejimakor, counsel to Kanu, disclosed this in a post on X following a meeting with his client at the DSS facility. Ejimakor noted that Kanu used the opportunity to commend his lawyers, family, and associates for securing the favourable judgment in Kenya.

“Rising from today’s visitation, MAZI NNAMDI KANU took the opportunity to hail his lawyers & siblings for the stunning victory from Kenya,” Ejimakor said.

He added that Kanu encouraged anyone who doubts his messages communicated through his lawyers to personally visit him at the DSS facility.

Recall that Kanu was arrested by Nigerian security agents in Kenya in June 2021 and subsequently extradited to Nigeria, where he remains in DSS custody.

Kanu’s invitation has stirred fresh attention around his prolonged detention and the ongoing legal battles tied to his case.
