Speaking to newsmen on “Politics Today” on March 5, 2025, Jandor explained that his campaign had been gaining traction before the February 25, 2023, elections, but a sudden shift in voter sentiment, attributed to Peter Obi’s popularity, changed the results. Jandor remarked, “We did everything, but that wave came and swallowed the whole thing. Nobody saw that coming.”

He further asserted that without Obi’s influence, he would have likely won the election. The final INEC results saw Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC emerge victorious with 762,134 votes, while Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour secured 312,329 votes, and Jandor trailed far behind with 62,449 votes. Recently, Jandor announced his exit from the PDP, citing internal party issues and betrayal.
