The decision to suspend Kanta was conveyed in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Bala Ibrahim, in Dutse. The statement highlighted the governor’s directive to suspend Kanta pending an investigation into his alleged involvement in the mismanagement of funds allocated for the iftar feeding program in Babura Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has responded to the probe initiated by his successor, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State. Ganduje described the probe as baseless and an attempt by Governor Yusuf to divert attention from his own failures.

Ganduje’s reaction comes in the wake of criminal charges filed against him, his wife, and son, alleging bribery.
