According to the statement, Suleiman’s termination is effective immediately, and all privileges and rights associated with her position have been revoked. She has been directed to return all government property in her possession to the Secretary to the Government’s office.

While the statement did not provide a specific reason for her dismissal, the timing coincides with a significant development in the state’s public sector. Recently, during a press briefing, the Jigawa State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Hon. Sagir Musa, announced the discovery of 6,348 ghost workers as a result of the state’s comprehensive Staff Audit Biometric Data Capture and Validation Exercise. This initiative, aimed at cleaning up the state’s payroll system, has already saved Jigawa State ₦314.6 million monthly, amounting to annual savings of nearly ₦3.8 billion.

In light of these findings, the state government is further streamlining the payroll system through the establishment of a Continuous Capture Centre (CCC) at the Office of the Head of Civil Service. This centre will continue the staff audits and biometric data capture to ensure the integrity of the state’s Integrated Payroll and Personnel Management System (IPPMS).

Governor Namadi’s administration continues to prioritize fiscal responsibility and efficiency within the state’s public sector.
