Nollywood Needs A Major Shift To Compete Internationally
The 32-year-old actor, known for his role in the Star Wars franchise, highlighted the importance of international partnerships, along with workshops and learning opportunities to drive industry growth. He urged the federal government to support Nollywood and encouraged filmmakers to be more receptive to change, constructive criticism, and in-depth research.
Boyega added, “If we can appreciate Avengers and Black Panther, why can’t we produce such films in Nigeria? To truly reach a global audience, we must be willing to learn, collaborate, and embrace new standards.”
