Jonathan Speaks On Ministerial Nomination For Tinubu

Tinubu Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has clarified that his recent visits to President Bola Tinubu have been misinterpreted by politicians. As the leader of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) mediation team to Mali, he visited Tinubu twice since May 29, the day Tinubu assumed office.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan explained that his visits were to brief President Tinubu on the situations in the sub-region.

He urged Nigerians to ignore the mischief makers spreading false allegations because they pose a danger to the peace and growth of the country.

The statement emphasized that the allegation that Jonathan was seeking to nominate a minister from Bayelsa State for the government of President Tinubu is entirely false and baseless.

The former president labeled the publication as malicious and preposterous, pointing out that the authors lack credibility as their organization, the Bayelsa APC Elders Council, is unknown to the structure of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
