[JUST IN]: 2023: Top Aspirant Withdraws From Race, Reveals Next Move
Chief Sheriff Mulade, a governorship aspirant and originator of Ijaw for the 2023 governorship has officially withdrawn from the race for 2023 governorship in Delta State.
Mulade who announced his withdrawal in a press statement, said now that he has withdrawn from the race, he will only support anyone who has the qualities of former Governor James Onanefe Ibori.
He said that he decided to support anyone who has the qualities of Chief James Ibori because he is the only one who brought a lot of infrastructure development to the Ijaw riverine communities like; the Bomadi bridge, relocation of Warri South-West Local Government Council headquarters from Ogidigben to Ogbe-Ijoh, School of Marine Technology, Omadino bridge and amongst others.
He noted that his withdrawal from the governorship race was part of the sacrifices he made to honour his late mother, Madam Ebikeseiye Christiana Mulade (Nee Timiyan) who died on the 27th of October 2021.

According to him, “My decision to withdraw from the Delta state governorship race was predicated on two reasons, to avail the family time and opportunity to mourn my late mother and to focus more in maintaining the unity of the family that my late mother left behind, as well as to enable me redirect my energy to engage government and policy makers on the need to critically address the issues of pollution and under-development in the Niger Delta region, because my mother died of Sarcoma Cancer caused by environmental pollution”.
He stated further that the collective effort of all Deltans will bring about the much needed positive and progressive change for a better tomorrow for the children yet unborn. “This can only be achieved when equity, fairness and justice are practiced by all Deltans in choosing the right candidate to serve as Delta State Governor come 2023”.
“It is imperative to state that, the time has come for Deltans to rise above the confines of our individualistic and ethnic consideration to broader perspectives of electing a personality capable of giving Delta the desire development, rather than senatorial or ethnicity”, he added.
