Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has called on Nigerians not to lose faith in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Oyintiloye made this appeal while speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo.

Assuring that Tinubu, being a true democrat, would fulfill all his electoral promises for the prosperity of Nigerians, Oyintiloye added that various economic policies by the president, such as fuel subsidy removal and the unification of the naira, though causing discomfort, would lay a strong foundation for a prosperous Nigeria.

While acknowledging the economic hardship currently faced by Nigerians, Oyintiloye emphasized that there is hope for a better and prosperous future.

He stated, “There is no doubt that Nigerians are facing hard times, but this is not deliberate, nor a sign of failure on the part of the president.

For us to enjoy a prosperous Nigeria, we must be ready to sacrifice a little, and that is what is currently happening.

Mr. President has the best interest of Nigerians at heart. He will not gain anything by deliberately inflicting pain on Nigerians.

All the economic policies put in place by the president, which are causing hardship, are actually aimed at strengthening our economy.

Don’t lose faith in the president. He will do better, and he will continue to improve the welfare of Nigerians.

Oyintiloye hinted that the Tinubu administration inherited a weak economy when he came to power. Fixing it for the benefit of Nigerians would require patience, he noted.

He emphasized that the interventions put in place by the president were necessary for revitalizing the country’s economy. These interventions would focus on priority areas such as quality agricultural practices, a robust marketing system, quality health system, education, improved electricity, and tackling corruption.

Government will continue to strengthen our economy by investing in industries, promoting local production, and developing the agricultural value chain, which will help reduce our dependence on imports and crude oil,” he said.

Oyintiloye also appealed to opposition party leaders to refrain from making statements and narratives that could polarize the country.
