Katsina United Break Silence, Debunk Reports Chinedu Ozor Regained Consciousness

According to Ireporter Online, Ozor collapsed during the encounter at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium and was later pronounced dead despite efforts to save him.

The club addressed the reports in a statement shared on its official X account on Wednesday, describing claims that the player later regained consciousness as false.

Katsina United explained that confusion arose after Ozor’s family, still struggling to come to terms with the incident, requested additional medical confirmation before his body was transferred to the mortuary.

The club stressed that the request for further confirmation should not be interpreted as evidence that the footballer had survived.

Katsina United said Ozor did not regain consciousness and had died following the incident, urging the public to stop circulating rumours and unverified information about his condition.

The club also appealed for privacy and compassion as Ozor’s family, teammates, friends and other members of the football community mourn his death.

The club urged supporters to allow those closest to the late player to grieve while ensuring that his memory is treated with dignity and respect.
