Witnesses revealed that Abdullahi had been watching the match at a sports center in Sango when he suddenly started feeling unwell.

According to one witness, Abdullahi watched the intense match from start to finish, including extra time and the decisive penalty shootout. However, he began complaining of dizziness, prompting him to leave for home to rest. Little did he know that his blood pressure had risen dangerously.

Upon reaching home, Abdullahi collapsed, and he was swiftly rushed to a nearby private hospital in Sango. Unfortunately, he was later referred to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, where he passed away before receiving medical attention.

The university’s Director of Information, Dr. Saedat Aliyu, confirmed Abdullahi’s passing, expressing condolences and highlighting his vibrancy just the day before.
