The suspension, which was announced in a statement released on Wednesday and signed by the Labour Party ward Chairman, Ozor Chigbogu, and Secretary, Sabastine Ugwuoke, was prompted by a vote of no confidence passed against Ugwu by the Ward Executive Committee and party stakeholders.

The party cited Ugwu’s involvement in anti-party activities and other questionable actions that undermine the reputation and principles of the Labour Party as the basis for his suspension.

As per the suspension letter, Ugwu has been instructed to surrender all party assets in his possession within the next 48 hours. Additionally, he has been warned against representing himself as the Party Youth Leader until the disciplinary committee completes its investigation and makes recommendations.
