This directive, announced on Saturday, April 6, aims to bolster transparency and shield consumers from potential price exploitation. LASCOPA emphasizes the importance of clear pricing to prevent misunderstandings and ensure a straightforward shopping experience for consumers.
Mr. Afolabi Solebo, the General Manager of LASCOPA, underscored that the absence of price tags violates consumer rights and contravenes the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency Law. He emphasized that such practices hinder informed decision-making for consumers, directly contradicting the Consumer Protection Act’s requirements for transparent pricing.
To support consumer advocacy, Solebo provided LASCOPA’s contact information, urging the public to report violations and actively participate in safeguarding their consumer rights. The agency’s phone lines are 08124993885, 09064323154, and 08092509777.
