Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation, confirmed the operation in a statement released on Tuesday in Lagos. The enforcement covered areas including Alakija, Iyana-Iba, Festac, Mile 2, and Berger Suya toward Mile 2 Oke.
Osiyemi mentioned that 82 okadas were impounded for various violations across these locations. He also highlighted that the reduced presence of defiant okadas on the roads is a testament to the success of consistent enforcement and public compliance efforts, contributing to a decrease in crime rates within the city.
He emphasized that the operation was conducted smoothly, maintaining professionalism and civility throughout the process.
