List Of Individuals Barred From Accessing Tinubu Student Loan

The bill, which recently received approval from the Nigerian Senate, aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by students aspiring to pursue higher education.
However, Tribune Online highlighted specific provisions within the law that outline five categories of individuals ineligible for the student loan program:
- Applicants with a documented history of defaulting on previous loans issued by any organization.
- Applicants found guilty of examination malpractice by educational institutions.
- Applicants with a criminal record involving felony, dishonesty, or fraud.
- Individuals convicted of drug-related offenses.
- Applicants whose parents (either father or mother) have defaulted on student loans or any other loans extended to them.
These exclusions aim to ensure the responsible allocation of funds and uphold the integrity of the student loan program, preventing misuse and ensuring that resources are allocated to deserving candidates.
