Major Shake-Up At CBN As 50 More Officials Sacked

The dismissal of these officials, which began on March 15 and has continued every other week, has caused palpable apprehension among staff members, as the management has not provided any standard criteria for the decisions. According to reports, at least 117 officials have been sacked from the CBN in the last 20 days, and the disengagement process is expected to continue for months.
Sources within the senior management, who spoke anonymously, revealed that the spree of sackings is likely to persist until the end of April. Many affected staff members have expressed frustration over the lack of clarity or justification for the sack, leading them to believe they are victims of a personal vendetta by Governor Cardoso and the deputy governors.
This latest development comes on the heels of a previous shake-up at the CBN, where forty individuals, including directors, deputy directors, assistant directors, principal managers, and senior managers, were relieved of their duties.
