Man Arrested For Poisoning Wife In Jigawa To Seize Her Wealth

In a startling turn of events, the Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended a 40-year-old man, Habu Ibrahim, over an alleged sinister scheme to poison his wife in Danadama village, Sule Tankarkar LGA.

According to State Police Commissioner A. T. Abdullahi, the suspect stands accused of concocting a poisonous concoction intended for his 35-year-old wife, Zakiya Uzairu, with the sinister motive of inheriting her wealth.

Swift action was taken upon receiving the report, with detectives from the Sule Tankarkar Division promptly apprehending the suspect at the scene of the intended crime.

CP Abdullahi further revealed that the suspect was brought in for questioning at the Divisional Police office in Sule Tankarkar and subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse for further probe.

“During the interrogation, the suspect willingly confessed to the crime, confirming the accuracy of the information provided to the police. He admitted to intending to kill his wife to gain possession of her livestock, which included goats, sheep, and cows,” stated CP Abdullahi.

The police report continued, detailing the suspect’s chilling admission that his wife narrowly escaped the lethal plot after detecting the poison and foiling his nefarious intentions.
