Man Fatally Stabbed On His Way To Break Fast In Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the incident, which unfolded as Ibrahim and others were en route to a mosque to break their Ramadan fast.

The conflict arose on Tuesday, March 26, towards the end of the fasting period.

City & Crime reports indicate that Ibrahim engaged in a heated dispute with a group of young men, including the suspect, while heading towards the JIBWIS Mosque in town.

The altercation escalated into a physical confrontation, culminating in Ibrahim being fatally stabbed in the neck by the assailant, who brandished a sharp object during the scuffle. The other individuals involved fled the scene.

SP Ahmed Wakil, the Public Relations Officer, stated, “The command received a report of culpable homicide from Gumau outstation involving two individuals, Khalid Ibrahim (25) and Usman Ibrahim (18), both of Magama-Gumau town in Toro LGA of Bauchi State.”

He continued, “The two engaged in a fight during which Usman Ibrahim used a sharp knife against Khalid Ibrahim, causing a serious injury. Upon receiving the report, the command swiftly responded, dispatching the DPO, Toro Division, to the scene.”

Despite efforts to save him, Ibrahim succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the General Hospital, Toro, where he was pronounced dead.

The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, has instructed the DPO, Toro Division, to conduct an impartial investigation into the incident, with the findings to be disclosed to the public.
