According to Ireporter Online, no fewer than 11 people have been confirmed dead following a tragic civilian aircraft crash near the eastern French town of Tomblaine on Sunday.

Authorities disclosed that the aircraft went down in close proximity to the Tomblaine airport, triggering an immediate emergency response and the establishment of a security cordon around the crash site as rescue and investigative teams moved in.

Security agencies have urged residents and members of the public to steer clear of the area to allow uninterrupted recovery and investigation efforts.

Local media reports indicate that the ill-fated aircraft was operated by a parachuting school and was transporting participants on a skydiving exercise when the accident occurred.
