Military Arrests Suspected Terrorist Kingpin, Ammunition Courier In Kaduna
Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and several associates during separate operations conducted across Kaduna State.
According to Ireporter Online, the military also intercepted a suspected ammunition courier and recovered 300 rounds of live ammunition during the operations carried out on September 9, 2026.
The Media Information Officer of Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Thursday.
Danja said troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation in the early hours of September 9 at Dabar Dabo, a suspected terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He said the operation led to the arrest of a suspected terrorist kingpin and two members of his group.
The three suspects have been taken into military custody, where they are expected to undergo further investigation.
In a separate operation conducted the same day, troops acting on intelligence intercepted a 50-year-old woman in Igabi Local Government Area.
The woman was allegedly carrying 300 rounds of live ammunition concealed inside a bag and was suspected to be acting as an ammunition courier.
Preliminary investigations indicated that she had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly collected the ammunition before proceeding towards Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State.
The military said the ammunition was reportedly intended for terrorists operating in the area.
The suspect and the recovered ammunition were subsequently taken into military custody for further investigation.
Also on September 9, troops from Sector 1, working alongside a community vigilante group, arrested another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.
Four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists were recovered following the suspect’s interrogation and a search of his premises.
The suspect and the recovered devices were also taken into military custody for further investigation.
Danja said the operations demonstrated the commitment of Operation Fansan Yamma troops to dismantling terrorist networks, restricting their movements and disrupting the supply of arms, ammunition and other logistics within the Joint Operations Area.
He commended members of the public for their cooperation with security agencies and urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest security formation.
