According to AVM Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information at the Nigerian Air Force, the airstrikes significantly degraded the capabilities of oil thieves in the region. He assured that these operations effectively disrupted the activities of economic saboteurs, preventing them from vandalizing pipelines to steal crude oil.

Gabkwet reported that one illegal refining site was destroyed in the Idama community, along with four boats carrying illegally-refined products. Additionally, reconnaissance missions identified and destroyed an active illegal refining site in Ogbomkiri community. In Arugbana community, oil thieves attempted to set up an illegal refining site but fled upon the approach of military aircraft.

Furthermore, several illegal sites were observed in Samkiri community and subsequently engaged and destroyed during the operation. In total, approximately seven illegal refining sites and four boats were discovered and destroyed over the two-day operation.

These decisive actions by the military demonstrate a commitment to combating illegal activities in the oil-rich region, safeguarding national resources, and promoting economic stability.
