Israel’s military Clarifies 99% Of Weapons Fired By Iran Were Intercepted

According to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, only “a small number” of ballistic missiles managed to breach Israel’s defenses and reach its territory.

Hagari reported that Iran launched around 170 drones, over 30 cruise missiles, and more than 120 ballistic missiles at Israel. However, the vast majority of these were intercepted by the Israeli Air Force and its partners.

The ballistic missiles that did penetrate Israel’s defenses targeted the Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel, causing only light structural damage. Despite this, the base remained operational, with aircraft continuing their operations.

Additionally, Iraq and Yemen also participated in the attacks against Israel, but none of their projectiles reached Israeli territory. Furthermore, Lebanon launched “dozens” of rockets towards northern Israel, prompting Israeli retaliation strikes against various targets in Lebanon.

While a 10-year-old girl sustained severe injuries from shrapnel, there were no other immediate reports of Israeli casualties. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in his first public remarks since the attack, assured that Israel intercepted and halted the attacks, expressing confidence that victory would be achieved together.
