Badejo’s arrest reportedly took place on Monday following an incident involving a retired soldier and Fulani pastoralists, which escalated into a confrontation that resulted in injuries to the former soldier.

An official from Miyetti Allah, who requested anonymity, expressed deep concern regarding Badejo’s ongoing detention, labeling the situation as alarming.

According to the official, the altercation began when a group of Fulani pastoralists clashed with a retired soldier, believed to be affiliated with the Air Force, in the Tudun Wada community of Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. The conflict left the retired soldier injured.

The following day, the, soldier reportedly rallied his fellow soldiers from the Keffi barracks, creating chaos in the community with their gunfire and allegedly seizing an unspecified number of cattle.

On Monday, after returning from a trip, Badejo was confronted by soldiers from the Keffi barracks at his office located in the Maliya cattle market, Tudun Wada, and was taken away to an undisclosed location, where he remains without communication.

The source further emphasized that the pastoralists involved were not affiliated with Badejo—they were neither his family nor his employees. His arrest appears to stem from his position as a leader within the Fulani community.

Reports suggest that he has since been moved to the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) for further investigation.
