Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, has brought the complaint to determine Liam’s biological father.

Confirming the news, Monisola Odumosu, a member of the family’s legal team, stated that all necessary legal preparations were in place for the case’s success.

A date has been set for the hearing of the DNA test application filed by the family of the late pop singer, Mr Ilerioluwa Promise Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad), who passed away on September 12, 2023, under unusual circumstances. The legal team is fully equipped to ensure the case proceeds smoothly.

The application is filed at the Family Court of the Ikorodu Magistrate Court (MKD/31/FAM/2024), titled Joseph Aloba v Cynthia Omowunmi Aloba. The family, represented by the deceased father, seeks a court order for a deoxyribonucleic acid test regarding the paternity of Master Liam Aloba, allegedly the son of the late Mr Ilerioluwa Promise Oladimeji Aloba, to be conducted in a recognized and accredited government or private medical facility within Lagos State, Nigeria, at the applicant’s expense.

The family also requests an order compelling Mrs. Omowunmi Aloba to present herself and Master Liam Aloba for DNA testing.

Efforts to serve the court process on Mohbad’s wife at her Lekki residence on Friday, March 8, were unsuccessful, as per the statement.

The legal team plans to explore alternative methods to ensure all court processes are properly served.

Mohbad’s death at the age of 27 sparked controversy on social media.
