Natasha Osawaru Declares: “I Will Be Nigeria’s President

Natasha Osawaru Idibia, wife of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has declared her ambition to become President of Nigeria.

According to Ireporter Online, the Edo State lawmaker made the declaration while celebrating her grandfather, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, who recently marked his 92nd birthday in Benin City, Edo State.

Speaking during the celebration, Natasha expressed her admiration and affection for her grandfather, describing him as someone she deeply loves and respects.

The lawmaker said she was determined to make him proud through her accomplishments, particularly her political career, and expressed her hope of attaining the highest political office in Nigeria while he is still alive.

Addressing her grandfather, Natasha said becoming president was one of the goals she was working towards and promised to make him proud if she eventually achieved the ambition.

“But I promise you that I’ll be the president of this country before you know it. And I’ll make you very, very proud. And I promise to do better and better by you every day,” she said.

Natasha currently represents Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, where she serves as the Minority Leader.

She assumed the position in August 2026 following a reshuffling of the Assembly’s principal offices.

Her appointment as Minority Leader came months after she defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in May 2026.

The declaration marks a significant expression of political ambition from the lawmaker, who is currently serving at the state legislative level.
