This clarification follows a claim by factional LP spokesman Abayomi Arabambi that the party would field Obi to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. However, Ifoh refuted the claim, stating that such a decision had not been made by the Julius Abure-led leadership.

When asked about the “no automatic ticket” stance, Umar stated that Obi remained unbothered, emphasizing his commitment to democratic principles and fair competition.

“Our principal, Peter Obi, believes in democracy and a level playing field. He has never sought special treatment but rather promotes good governance, economic growth, and social justice,” Umar said.

He urged Nigerians to focus on pressing national issues rather than being distracted by misleading narratives, reaffirming Obi’s dedication to fairness, democracy, and Nigeria’s progress.
