In an official statement released by the Nigeria Customs, the Public Relations Officer of the command highlighted that Comptroller Kamal Mohammed, the Customs Area Controller, oversaw the handover ceremony at the Command Headquarters in Sokoto. He urged traders to reciprocate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s gesture by ensuring prompt sale of the grains within Nigerian markets.
Additionally, Comptroller Kamal announced collaborative efforts with the Customs Intelligence Unit (CIU) and the Joint Border Patrol Team (JBPT) to closely monitor the distribution of these grains across local markets, preventing their diversion through smuggling routes.
Highlighting the Nigeria Customs Service’s resolute stance against smuggling, Comptroller Mohammed emphasized the commitment of the agency, under the leadership of Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, to combat illicit activities.
