Rollas highlighted the need for reforms in the Nigerian film industry to ensure better protection and fair pay for actors. He explained that actor licensing would be a crucial step in creating a more structured and regulated environment for Nollywood.

“We want to upgrade and unionize; it’s no longer just an association,” Rollas said. “This is about building a union to advocate for actors against organizations that exploit us.”

He also emphasized the need for such reforms, pointing out that many actors, especially prominent ones, suffer financial hardships when they fall ill due to a lack of residuals or royalties. He stressed, “Without financial benefits like royalties, actors’ earnings don’t sustain them long-term, and when they fall sick, there is no support.”
