According to Alexander Barunde, the Commandant of the NSCDC in Plateau State, the suspects were arrested in Kwakwi community, located in Riyom Local Government Area, following actionable intelligence received from concerned members of the community.

Barunde disclosed that upon their arrest, the suspects were found in possession of sixty pieces of railway tracks, thirty slippers, and various other materials intended for vandalism. These items were being transported in two trucks, with the destination yet to be determined.

He further stated that the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

In response, one of the suspects, Ahmed Mohammed, denied any knowledge of the items being vandalized. He claimed that they were merely contracted to transport the materials, absolving themselves of direct involvement in the criminal activity.
