Odinkalu Warns Politicians: Working With El-Rufai Will Lead To Doom
Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, has cautioned political parties and individuals against associating with ex-Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai…READ MORE…
His warning follows criticism from former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, who condemned El-Rufai’s recent political statements attacking President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Sani accused El-Rufai of running an oppressive government during his tenure and expressed disbelief that he now advocates for democracy after leaving office.
El-Rufai recently criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that the party had abandoned its founding principles and was promoting poor leadership. Despite backlash from the APC government, he stood by his comments, stating he would have voiced the same concerns even if he were part of Tinubu’s cabinet.
“If I had remained in the Tinubu government, I would have done the same—first privately, then publicly if no corrective action was taken. My public service record since 1998 speaks for itself,” El-Rufai declared.
Reacting to Shehu Sani’s remarks, Odinkalu took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, warning that any political party or individual aligning with El-Rufai on a national level is bound to fail.
“I keep saying it: Any party or person that seeks to work with him towards a national platform is & will be doomed,” he wrote.
