Okoye Predicts Shaibu And Oshiomhole Will Unite To Support APC In Edo Gubernatorial Election

In an interview with Legit, Okoye contended that discontent over Shaibu’s impeachment could translate into support for the APC candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon Dennis Idahosa.

Okoye suggested that Shaibu, a former APC member, might overtly or covertly back the APC in the forthcoming election. He further speculated that Shaibu and former governor Senator Adams Oshiomhole would align their efforts to bolster the APC’s chances and facilitate Okpebholo’s emergence.

Describing Shaibu as a significant figure in Edo politics and a relative of Oshiomhole, Okoye anticipated a renewed alliance between them in favor of the APC candidate. He characterized Shaibu’s impeachment as a setback for the PDP and a boon for the APC’s electoral prospects in Edo.

Okoye expressed confidence in the APC’s victory in the September 2024 gubernatorial election, citing perceived public dissatisfaction with the current administration under Governor Obaseki. He portrayed the Okpebholo-Idahosa ticket as a harbinger of change, asserting that Edo residents would overwhelmingly support them for a paradigm shift in governance.
