The committee, chaired by Kelly Okungbowa with former Edo State House of Assembly Speaker Victor Edoror as Vice Chairman, was officially inaugurated on Thursday in Benin, the state capital. The team has been given a two-week deadline to complete its mission.

Speaking at the inauguration, Okungbowa revealed that many vehicles used by the previous administration under Governor Godwin Obaseki remain unreturned, despite multiple requests. He assured the public that the committee would operate within the law to recover the vehicles.

“A lot of vehicles from the past administration are still missing because those in possession have refused to return them,” Okungbowa stated. “We have been mandated to recover all such vehicles, and we appeal to members of the public with information about their whereabouts to assist us.”

The committee has already gathered critical information about some of the vehicles and is optimistic about meeting its target. Citizens are encouraged to report cases to the committee via the provided contact number: 08110165121.
