Omokri’s remarks come in response to El-Rufai’s recent criticism of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), where the former governor claimed the party had abandoned its founding principles, lost internal democracy, and promoted poor leadership.

Omokri Calls Out El-Rufai’s Alleged Hypocrisy

Reacting via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Omokri condemned El-Rufai, alleging that his tenure as governor was marked by widespread killings in Kaduna.

“You are a bloodthirsty tyrant who no longer recognizes Nigeria simply because blood is no longer flowing on the streets of Kaduna,” Omokri wrote.

He further accused El-Rufai of enabling mass violence, stating:

“The reason you, Nasir El-Rufai, the Butcher of Kaduna, no longer recognize Nigeria is because, during your time in office, there were large-scale massacres in Southern Kaduna, after you admitted to paying herdsmen. Additionally, there were mass killings of Shiites in Northern Kaduna, following an invasion of their compound in Zaria, where nearly a thousand men, women, and children were killed under your government’s watch.”

Omokri claimed that these violent incidents ceased immediately after El-Rufai left office.
