Ondo Pastor Abandons Christianity, Embraces Ifá Tradition

According to IReporter Online, Olabanjo, who previously founded Image of God Evangelical and Prophetic Ministries, disclosed his decision in a video shared online.

In the recording, the former pastor explained that a period of personal spiritual reflection and encounters with practitioners of the traditional faith influenced his decision to begin practising Ifá.

He also revealed that he had adopted a new spiritual identity. According to him, he was formerly known as Pastor Olabanjo Felix Gold but now identifies himself as Ifawamiri Aworan Olodumare.

Olabanjo described himself as a Babalawo and acknowledged the traditional spiritual elders who, according to him, played important roles in guiding him through his transition.

He specifically expressed gratitude to his Oluwo, Baba Aifuwapẹ Oluṣẹgun Latunji, whom he identified as the Araba of Isararemọ, as well as other individuals who supported him throughout his spiritual journey.

Speaking about his new path, the former cleric emphasised the importance of mentorship, guidance and respect for elders within indigenous Yoruba spiritual practice.

He said the knowledge and guidance he received from traditional practitioners contributed significantly to his decision to fully embrace Ìṣẹ̀ṣe and Ifá.

Olabanjo also made strong comments about Christianity and other religions he described as foreign, saying his personal experiences had changed his perception of those faiths.

He declared his commitment to Ìṣẹ̀ṣe and described the Yoruba traditional spiritual system as the authentic path he had chosen to follow.

The former pastor’s announcement has since attracted attention online, with his decision marking a significant shift from his previous role as a Christian cleric to his newly declared identity as a Babalawo.
