The duo, notorious for targeting passengers and pilfering their belongings, faced the wrath of the mob after allegedly using hypnotic tactics or threats with sharp objects to rob unsuspecting victims of cash and mobile phones. Their modus operandi included hacking into the phones to access bank accounts and withdraw funds.

However, their luck ran out when a former victim, recognizing them as they entered their tricycle, sounded the alarm. This alert drew a crowd, including past victims of “One Chance” robberies, who swiftly descended on the perpetrators, delivering a brutal beating and destroying the tricycle they used for their nefarious activities.

Witnesses reported that the suspected robbers, realizing the gravity of their situation, confessed their crimes and pleaded for mercy. Despite their pleas, the mob showed no mercy, with some individuals even threatening to set them ablaze.

Fortunately, the timely intervention of elders among the onlookers prevented the situation from escalating further, sparing the suspected robbers from the grim fate of being burned alive.

As of the time of this report, the Abia State Police Command had not issued a statement regarding the incident, leaving the community to grapple with the aftermath of this disturbing episode.
