According to spokesperson ASP Mansir Hassan, these incidents were confirmed in a statement released in Kaduna on Tuesday.

Hassan detailed that on October 8, around 2:45 AM, a surveillance team from the Kasuwan Mata Police Division conducted a successful operation at a brothel on Nupe Street in the Kasuwan Mata area of Zaria, acting on credible intelligence. During this operation, a 35-year-old man named Adamu Yahaya was arrested. A search revealed a locally made pistol, a live cartridge, and a pair of handcuffs in his possession.

Initial investigations have commenced, and Yahaya is currently in police custody undergoing interrogation.

In another incident on the same day at about 10:30 AM, a patrol unit from the Barnawa Division apprehended two individuals during a stop-and-search operation. The suspects, identified as Andrew Emmanuel from Gbagyi Villa and Mendwas Peter Bulus from Television Village in Kaduna, were found with a service pistol, two Infinix mobile phones, and a quantity of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. They reportedly confessed to involvement in armed robbery activities within Kaduna, according to Hassan.

Further investigations are being conducted to uncover the full extent of their criminal activities and identify any accomplices.

Hassan noted that on December 9, police surveillance teams attached to the Dan-Magaji Division, acting on credible intelligence, observed three individuals acting suspiciously along the Kano-Kaduna expressway. When questioned, the suspects gave unsatisfactory answers, leading to a thorough search that uncovered 216 rounds of 9mm live ammunition and one round of 7.62x39mm live ammunition.

The suspects were identified as Buhari Suleiman from Labar Road in Jaji, Kaduna; Jamil Yakubu from Dungun Sambo in Dandume, Katsina State; and Aliyu Abdullahi from Tushen Jaji, Kaduna. Initial findings revealed that Jamil Yakubu had purchased 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition just a week prior and was intercepted while attempting to procure more from Buhari Suleiman.

On December 10, at approximately 5:00 AM, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Damakasuwa received actionable intelligence regarding a bandit attack in the Tudu Gishere area. Acting quickly, the DPO assembled a team of officers along with personnel from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVS) and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to address the situation.

Upon arrival, security forces confronted the bandits, resulting in a fierce gun battle during which one unidentified bandit was killed, while others fled into nearby bushes, likely injured.

The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna, Ibrahim Abdullahi, commended the officers for their effective operations and urged the public to continue providing reliable information to assist in the ongoing fight against crime in the state.
