According to Ireporter Online, the Obidient Movement Worldwide has called on aspirants and members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain focused, disciplined, and united as the party holds its primaries scheduled for May 29, 2026.

The National Coordinator of the movement made the appeal in a statement, stressing the need for unity, maturity, sacrifice, and strategic focus among all participants in the exercise. He noted that the coalition within the NDC was deliberately formed and should not be derailed by personal ambitions, adding that the ultimate goal remains securing the candidature of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, for the 2027 general elections.

He further emphasized that the movement’s mission is to promote leadership anchored on competence, character, capacity, commitment, and compassion, aimed at delivering what he described as people-centred governance for Nigerians.

While urging aspirants to accept the outcome of the primaries in good faith, he cautioned that not all contestants can emerge victorious, noting that democratic processes naturally produce both winners and losers. He advised aggrieved members to seek redress through internal party dispute-resolution mechanisms rather than resorting to litigation, warning that external legal battles could undermine collective progress.

The coordinator also cautioned that political opponents were closely monitoring developments within the party, warning that internal divisions could be exploited if not properly managed. He therefore called on members to close ranks after the primaries and redirect their energy toward securing victory in the 2027 elections, with a vision of building a nation where opportunity is accessible to all regardless of background.
