Only God, Not El-Rufai, Will Decide 2027 – Kaduna Commissioner Declares
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sadiq Mamman Lagos, has stated that former Governor Nasir El-Rufai has no authority to determine the outcome of the 2027 elections, emphasizing that only God holds that power…….READ MORE
Speaking in an interview with journalists, Mamman Lagos also criticized El-Rufai’s recent remarks against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, warning him to steer clear of the state’s political affairs.
According to Ireporteronline, the commissioner stressed that political power is determined by God, not by those who believe they control electoral outcomes.
“God will decide who wins the governorship and presidential elections in 2027,” Mamman Lagos declared.
His statement comes as 255 councilors in Kaduna publicly endorsed President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for a second term in 2027.
Taking a swipe at El-Rufai, Mamman Lagos asserted that Governor Uba Sani has remained committed to governance without interfering in past administrations.
“Our good and amiable governor never interfered in the previous administration. Instead, he focused on passing bills in the Senate to improve the lives of his constituents.
We see no reason why he should be distracted now by someone who thinks they hold the monopoly on political success,” he stated.
He further highlighted how Uba Sani has reversed several unpopular policies introduced by El-Rufai, describing them as “anti-masses policies.”
Listing Uba Sani’s achievements, Mamman Lagos revealed that the governor has:
✅ Reinstated traditional rulers deposed by the previous administration.
✅ Reversed high tuition fees imposed on students.
✅ Returned confiscated properties to their rightful owners.
The commissioner warned that no individual has the power to dictate the 2027 elections, emphasizing that the electorate will decide who to support based on the governor’s compassion and dedication to the people.
Meanwhile, Kaduna’s 255 councilors have publicly declared that there will be “no vacancy” in Aso Rock or Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in 2027.
Speaking on behalf of the councilors, Muhammad Sani Badiko praised Uba Sani for his massive infrastructural development and pledged grassroots support for his reelection.
“We rate the governor highly in rural development, economic recovery, education, and healthcare.
We will mobilize support for his reelection in 2027. All political actors should wait until after 2031,” Badiko stated.
