Osun APC Raises Concerns Over Adeleke’s Multibillion Contract Awards To Davido And His Father

Osun APC Accuses Governor Adeleke of Contract Fraud, Calls for Probe by Anti-Graft Agencies

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has leveled allegations of contract fraud against Governor Ademola Adeleke, urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate his administration.

Tajudeen Lawal, the chairman of Osun APC, made the accusations during a press briefing at the party’s Ilerioluwa campaign office. He claimed that Governor Adeleke had awarded multi-billion naira infrastructure projects to his family members and associates, including his elder brother, Deji Adeleke, his son David Adeleke (Davido), and Deputy Speaker Akinyode Abidemi Oyewusi, among others…READ ALSOPresident Tinubu Presents Apc Flag To Senator Okpebholo, Says Party On The Path To Victory In Edo Guber

Lawal asserted that the involvement of Governor Adeleke’s relatives and associates in these projects raises suspicions of contract irregularities. He particularly highlighted the awarding of contracts to companies associated with the Osun State Deputy Speaker, Mr. Akinyode Abidemi Oyewusi, as a clear conflict of interest and a violation of public procurement laws.

Calling for immediate action by anti-graft agencies, Lawal demanded thorough investigations to prevent further mismanagement of public funds under Governor Adeleke’s administration.

However, in response to the allegations, Sunday Bisi, the chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun, defended Governor Adeleke, emphasizing the transparency of his government. Bisi pointed to instances where Adeleke had disclosed financial information to the public, contrasting it with the secrecy surrounding the finances of the previous administration led by Gboyega Oyetola. “It is widely recognized that the Adeleke family is entrepreneurial, engaged in various established businesses both within Nigeria and internationally. The Osun APC should refrain from equating the Adeleke family with that of the former governor, whose family members lacked visible involvement in non-governmental ventures and were accused of monopolizing resources, including securing exclusive printing contracts at the secretariat during their tenure.”
